Find Your Voice

A woman told me that our fears are tailored to our life journey. This fear is exactly what we need to tackle to best fulfill our specific soul’s mission. She suggested that one way to face our fear is to remember that we are exactly where we are supposed to be.

So many people spend time attempting to be in the right place at the right time, and as a result, fail to notice the potential doors opening around them. Perhaps humans are impatient or expect an easy pathway to fortune and glory. Or, even more probable, we are sure that lighting one small candle in the darkness does not matter, or that one act of kindness will never shift the world.

We have been taught that the world needs heroes and caped crusaders, bombastic and charismatic leaders. We of consistent open-hearted generosity and spiritual tenacity, are but tiny fireflies in the blackest night and easily disregarded.

And yet, every small flame chases away darkness, and when joined together, forms a blazing fortress of light. Our task is to find our voice and spread light from where and when we are. We each hold a unique spiritual spark within us. Together with this specific glow, we are the only ones who can complete the task set for our individual souls. Much like a tapestry, each strand of color creates the nuances of the whole. Your soul’s role on life’s journey is to spread your light, especially in the areas that make you afraid.
