Over the past week, my dog and I shared a gaze with three coyotes in three locations. In two of the instances, we stared at each other, freezing time for several moments. Could the tricksters, as they are known, be sending me a message of change? Or perhaps they offered me a challenge to become something more than I dreamed possible.
Coyotes represent transformation, adaptability, and navigating tricky situations with cunning and intelligence, all of which are skills I embrace. Perhaps Coyote is telling me it is my time to shine, to use my talents to be a harbinger of possibilities, a rebellious spirit elevating hope in those around me, or a talented and adaptable navigator in unpredictable storms.
We seemed caught between the belief that the world will become a dystopian nightmare, with women and minorities suffering in servitude or a utopian paradise where everyone rises to a so-called “5D” spiritual level (honestly, I have no idea what that means). And this is something coyote would want to warn us about, to make us look at the insanity or believe that there are only two possible outcomes.
But what was coyote trying to tell me, or perhaps my dog and I, on these occasions? They were not trying to lead me astray, but telling me to stay on the path. After years of a circuitous life journey, full of synchronicity and serendipity, as well as hard choices and even harder work, it might be time to listen to the shifting winds and follow my unique path. One that I have not yet traveled.
Coyote tells us it is time to accept the challenge, embrace our soul’s purpose, and walk in our power without fear or apology. And to never follow them, since that is always the wrong path. I joyfully and with great pleasure accept the challenge.
